Gorham EMS provides CPR and first aid classes for organizations and individuals needing the training. Please review the courses we offer and the rates.

Heartsaver CPR and First Aid

Heartsaver CPR
  • Course Length 4 Hours
  • The Heartsaver CPR & AED course teaches the basics of Adult and Child CPR. The proper use of the AED, barrier devices, and chocking will also be reviewed.  This class will give you the confidence and ability to deal with a cardiac event if one should ever occur.

Heartsaver First Aid
  • Course Length 3 Hours
  • This course teaches the student the critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the few minutes between the discovery and the arrival of EMS . Students will learn skills such as the immediate treatment of bleeding, sprains, broken bones, allergic reactions, shock, and other commonly-encountered medical emergencies.

  • This course combines the heartsaver CPR/AED course and first aid course for a comprehensive course.

Healthcare Provider CPR

Healthcare Provider CPR
  • Course Length 4-6 hours
  • This course is for the professional who either works in the nursing, EMS, or other medical field.
  • Several topics are covered including the chain of survival and1 and 2 rescue CPR .  The difference between adult, child, and infant CPR will also be reviewed. Skills and tools used during CPR such as bag valve mask techniques, oxygen use, advanced airways and other items will also be discussed and practiced.  A book will be provided with this course and students are encouraged to pick up the book at least 3 days prior to the course to read prior to the course date.

Healthcare Provider CPR Refresher
  • Course Length 4 hours
  • This course is a renewal course for healthcare providers that must occur every two years.  This course reviews and reinforces topics covered in the initial Healthcare Provider course.
